This is Lincolnshire Emergency Medical Response with a special report from RAF Waddington Family’s Day, where thousands of families gathered for a safe, sunny, and highly spirited event.
Throughout the day, LEMR volunteer responders were on‑site supporting East Midlands Ambulance Service, providing immediate medical care, reassurance, and safety cover for visitors across the station. From minor injuries to welfare checks, the team worked continuously to ensure everyone could enjoy the event with confidence.
One of the day’s biggest highlights came at 1500 hours, when Station Commander Group Captain Leanne Warner stepped forward for a unique fundraising challenge. True to her word — and to the delight of the crowd — she took her place in the stocks, facing a barrage of wet sponges thrown by families, children, and even a few enthusiastic personnel.
All of it was in support of Lincolnshire Emergency Medical Response, helping raise vital funds to keep volunteer responders equipped and ready across the county. Her good humour, leadership, and willingness to get soaked made the moment one of the most talked‑about features of the day.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, LEMR continues its mission: keeping Lincolnshire safe, supported, and ready — wherever help is needed.
