Final 2025 LEMR Recruitment Event Draws Strong Support in Lincolnshire
The Lincolnshire Emergency Military Response (LEMR) scheme marked the conclusion of its 2025 recruitment calendar with a successful event held at RAF Cranwell this past weekend. The initiative, which has played a vital role in strengthening local resilience and emergency preparedness, welcomed dozens of new potential volunteers and supporters during its final outreach effort of the year.
Hosted at RAF Cranwell, the event featured interactive demonstrations, meet-and-greet sessions with current LEMR personnel, and informative briefings on the scheme’s mission, operations and expectations.Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the diverse roles available within LEMR, ranging from Clinical Responder and Driver to the committee positions and community coordination aspects.

“This final recruitment event of the year was not just about signing up new members — it was about reinforcing the spirit of service and community that defines LEMR,” said Matt Bailey, scheme Operations Manager.“We’re proud of the turnout and grateful for the continued support from the Military community across Lincolnshire.”

The LEMR scheme has grown steadily throughout 2025, thanks in part to a series of well-organised recruitment events and a strong social media presence. With the final recruitment push now complete, the organisation will shift its focus to training and integration, ensuring that new recruits are fully prepared to contribute to emergency response efforts across the region.
Next Steps for New Recruits: Training, Observation, and Integration
Following the event, successful applicants will begin the integration process once their Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)applications are approved. This essential step ensures all recruits meet the safeguarding standards required for operational readiness.
Once cleared, recruits will commence Observer Shifts, where they are paired with experienced LEMR scheme members during live deployments. These shifts offer invaluable exposure to real-time operations, including LEMR’s close integration with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).
The Observer phase serves multiple purposes:
“Our newest recruits have now started their rewarding journey to becoming fully qualified members of the LEMR family,” said Matt. “We wish them luck on their journey and look forward to seeing them grow into confident, capable responders.”
Military members of our Community who missed the event but are still interested in joining or supporting LEMR are encouraged to visit lemr.co.uk and monitor station Teams sites for more information.
As the year draws to a close, LEMR remains committed to its core mission: safeguarding Lincolnshire through preparedness, teamwork, and rapid response.
